Dan Glover
Musical Director | Composer/Arranger | Pianist
Dan is a Pianist, Composer/Arranger and Musical Director working predominantly in musical theatre. Most recently he was musical director for Grease at the Dominion Theatre in London's West End, and currently deps on a number of shows including Mean Girls, Two Strangers Carry A Cake Across New York and Dear Evan Hansen.
Previously he was the Musical Director for the 2019 UK tour and subsequent London run of Nativity! the Musical, for which he was delighted to be featured on Beyond the Curtain's "Best of 2019" Orchestra/Musical Direction shortlist.
He graduated from the Reid School of Music, Edinburgh University in 2014 with a BMus (Hons) degree, and during his time there worked prolifically with Edinburgh University Footlights and Edinburgh University Theatre Company (Bedlam Theatre) among many others. He received the Ian Pitt-Watson prize for Choral Conducting as a result of his work with musical theatre ensembles. He then went on to train at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts, where he earned a Postgraduate Diploma in Musical Directing.
Other recent credits include MD for The Bodyguard at the International Festival in Ljubljana, MD for Gary Lloyd's production of Sweet Charity at Arts Ed, Assistant MD on the International Tour of Cats, Children's MD/Keys 1 on the UK Tour of The Sound of Music and Assistant MD/Guitar/Keys on The Wedding Singer (Leicester Curve & UK Tour).
Previous work includes Anything Goes at Upstairs at the Gatehouse, London, Avenue Q (UK Tour), American Idiot (Arts Theatre) and Side By Side By Sondheim (Brockley Jack), where he assisted Stuart Pedlar, one of the original creators of the show.
Dan is a classically trained pianist and percussionist with experience in musical theatre, pop & rock, jazz, classical music and folk music, as well as a varied wealth of experience playing, arranging and recording contemporary and electronic music.
